Dinosaur Day 2024

The Museums of Western Colorado is thrilled to announce the annual Dinosaur Day at the Dinosaur Journey Museum in Fruita, taking place on Saturday, June 15th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This beloved family-friendly event has been a community favorite for over 30 years, offering a fun and educational celebration of dinosaurs and their fossilized friends.

Dinosaur Day promises a day full of engaging activities suitable for children of all ages. Guests can explore 10 activity booths hosted by community partner groups, along with a variety of vendors. Adding to the excitement, there will be a special appearance by Jake the Jackalope, a local favorite! For those looking to grab a bite to eat, Jukebox Jamboree will be serving delicious eats and sno-cones outside the museum all day.

Included in the festival is admission to the Dinosaur Journey Museum, where visitors can explore our exhibits and the 2024 special summer exhibition: Armored Mammals. This unique exhibit showcases the fascinating world of armored mammals and their place in prehistoric history.

We invite families and dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages to join us for a day of discovery, fun, and community spirit. Don’t miss this opportunity to create lasting memories and learn more about the incredible creatures that once roamed our planet.

Tickets to the event can be purchased at the door. Pricing is $6 for adults and $4 for children.
