Zelda Fitzgerald, dubbed the original flapper by her novelist husband, F. Scott Fitzgerald, was his muse, the darling of the Jazz Age, a ballerina, painter, and writer. She struggled with a tempestuous marriage, mental illness, and the changing times.


Kathy Applebee is a writer, playwright, actor, and teacher from Grand Junction, Colorado. Her previous Chautauqua performances include Nellie Bly and Nancy Blaine Underhill, Grand Junction’s first school marm. She also performs with Mesa Murder Mysteries and Shakespeare in the Park.
