Calling All Budding Adult Chautauquans

At our annual Two Rivers Chautauqua over the years, many adults have come to us wondering if there was an opportunity for them to learn how to bring a character to life. In answer to these requests and inquiries, we are organizing an Adult Chautauqua workshop.

This is your opportunity to be a historian and a thespian. This is your opportunity to discover more about the past in a way which truly brings it to life. Learn not only why someone was important but how they thought and acted, how they laughed and cried, and, most importantly, how they felt they would impact history.

The workshop will meet twice, first March 7 or 8 and then April 25 or 26, with the specific time still to be determined. The workshop will be led by professional Chautauquan Susan Marie Frontczak who has trained students and adults throughout Colorado. Once completing the course, a select few will be asked to perform at the annual Two Rivers Chautauqua on August 18 at the Avalon.

There is will be a small $25 tuition to help defray Susan Marie’s expenses. If interested, contact Peter Booth at (970) 242-0971, ext. 2204 or pbooth@westcomuseum.org.

Other communities have developed troupes of adult Chautauquans such as the Legendary Ladies from Greeley pictured on the left. We can do the same thing in Grand Junction. Join us.
