Best of the High Plains Chautauqua

August 5 - August 7

Led by Peter Booth, Ph.D. in cooperation with Colorado Humanities

This journey provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the excitement of live theater while discovering history presented in a whole different way. Chautauqua (pronounced “Chuh-TAW-Kwa”) is a unique blend of both. High Plains Chautauqua in Greeley has a national reputation as one of the premier gatherings. The theme in 2019 is “Best of the Past 20 Years” as they bring back some of their favorite Chautauqua experiences. These include historical first-person presentations of Abraham Lincoln (Dennis Boggs), Harriet Tubman (Becky Stone), Thomas Jefferson (Bill Barker), and more. Optional side trips will include discovering the great museums of the Greeley area. In addition, we will visit the historic Colorado Chautauqua in Boulder.
