Minimum Age: 8 (guests ages 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult)
Description: Hike the canyons and cliffs of Moab’s slickrock with curator Dr. Julia McHugh. Discover the power of wind and erosion as you explore two magnificent arches in the Moab area – Bowtie and Corona Arches. This is a family-friendly, gorgeous hike through the amazing geological formations near Canyonlands National Park. Learn what formed these two beautiful arches and enjoy spectacular views from nearly every angle. Bring your camera on this iconic hike!
Difficulty: Moderate (2.5 miles roundtrip, one steep section with cables, steps, and a 5-rung ladder)
Includes: Transportation, guides, lunch, and water.
Itinerary:
9:00 am – Depart Dinosaur Journey in Fruita, CO
11:00 am – Picnic Lunch Along the Colorado River
11:45 am – Hike to Bowtie and Corona Arches
2:30 pm – Depart Trail
4:30 pm – Return to Dinosaur Journey in Fruita, CO
