Earth Science Lecture Series

August 15 @ 5:30 pm

Come learn about the history behind the scenery of the Western Slope. We’ve partnered with scientists from across the region (and the country) to present information about the geology, geography, and paleontology of our spectacular landscapes. Learn about Ice Age animals, deep-time minerals, cannibal dinosaurs, and much more. Lectures will take place in the newly-upgraded Dinosaur Journey auditorium and are open to the public.

Mapping the Geology of Delta County

Join renowned geologist David Noe to learn about how geologists visualize the rocks under our feet. It takes lots of time, effort, and miles of walking and driving. The entire process from start to finish is an adventure, but the payoff is huge both for science and the local community!
