Led by Erin Schmitz, MWC Curator of Collection and Archives; Marie Tipping and Garry Brewer, Loyd Files Research Library volunteers and local historians
Throughout October on Saturdays, you have the opportunity to join us on a stroll through two of Grand Junction’s oldest cemeteries. We will begin our tour at the Whitewater Cemetery. High on a hill in the desert, the Whitewater Cemetery is like those you may have seen in old Western—a nostalgic and comforting place. We will then travel to Orchard Mesa Cemetery where we will walk through the many sections and learn the cemetery’s history. We will be visiting some of Grand Junction’s most famous residents, including George Crawford and Walter Walker.
