Join Curator of Collections & Archives Erin Schmitz, Loyd Files Research Library volunteer and local historian Marie Tipping, and Loyd Files Research Library volunteer and Museum board member Garry Brewer on a stroll through two of Grand Junction’s oldest cemeteries. We will begin our tour at the Whitewater Cemetery. High on a hill in the desert, the Whitewater Cemetery is like those you may have seen in an old Western – a nostalgic and comforting place. We will then travel to Orchard Mesa Cemetery, where we will walk through the many sections and learn the cemetery’s history. We will be visiting some of Grand Junction’s most famous residents, including George Crawford and Walter Walker.
Led by Erin Schmitz, Marie Tipping, and Garry Brewer
