Oral History Program – August

Our August Oral History presentation will be Building Rim Rock Drive, a history of the construction of Rim Rock Drive over the Colorado National Monument. Additionally, the Colorado National Monument Then & Now Photo Collection Exhibit will be displayed.

The program will be co-presented by Terri Ahern and Steve Hight.  

Steve Hight is the co-author with his wife, Denise, of Images of America: Fruita and Legendary Locals of Fruita, as well as dozens of articles about Fruita and other Western Colorado History. Together they were recipients of the 2018 Museum of Western Colorado Historian award and are on the Fruita Historic Preservation Board.

Terri Ahern is the Spring and Fall Walks & Talks Coordinator for the Colorado National Monument. Terri first started as a front desk volunteer and trail ambassador for the CO National Monument in May of 2006, which quickly transitioned into a paid position with CNMA a month later.
