Oral History Program – June

Mapping Mesa County: A look at Mesa County as seen through General Land Office and Sanborn maps

Zebulon Miracle will give this lecture that looks at early homestead records and General Land Office maps to examine not only how communities have grown and changed but will also show how these resources can be used for any researcher. In addition, local Sanborn Fire Insurance maps will also be examined. Zeb is a noted Grand Valley historian and currently works as the Curator of Curiosity at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa.

Please note: This is an evening program. We will be holding our summer Oral History programs in the evenings – June, July, and August.

This program is jointly sponsored by the Mesa County Libraries, Mesa County Historical Society, and the Museums of Western Colorado. It is free and open to the public.
