Led by Robert Gay, Colorado Canyons Association (CCA) Education Director
The McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area is truly a Jurassic Park. This tour explores major paleontological sites including Trail Through Time and Mygatt-Moore Quarry, one of the most significant Upper Jurassic dinosaur sites in the country; Dinosaur Hill, where in 1900 Elmer Riggs excavated a partial Apatosaurus skeleton; and the Fruita Paleontological Area, one of the few sites in America where small fossils from the Jurassic Period have been discovered.
