Out of Place and Time: Unusual and Strange Artifacts Found in Institutional Collections
We are looking forward to our fifth annual Heritage Rendezvous sponsored by U.S. Bank. The Museum of the West will again be hosting this annual tradition celebrating the unique heritage of the Western Slope.
This year’s theme is Out of Place and Time: Unusual and Strange Artifacts Found in Institutional Collections. The artifacts in the exhibition include a prayer bell encapsulated by a tree, an unusual barb wire collection, a unique invention, photographs of pioneers in distant lands, and other odd artifacts or heirlooms found in participating regional museum collections. Western Colorado museums and institutions are bringing their exhibits that tell the stories of unusual artifacts that give a colorful twist to their communities.
The Heritage Rendezvous exhibition will be on display at the Museum of the West from October 19, 2018 to March 25, 2019. The Museum of the West (a division of the museums of Western Colorado) is located at 462 Ute Ave., Grand Junction, Colorado.
