The Museums of Western Colorado, Colorado Canyons Association, Colorado National Monument, and Eureka! McConnell Science Museum have teamed up to bring you a week-long series of educational experiences to the Grand Valley for this year’s Earth Science Week (October 14-20, 2018). Our October Oral History presentation will be about The Ute Learning Garden. The Ute Learning Garden, located on two and a half acres west of the CSU Extension building at the Mesa County Fairgrounds, was created to demonstrate how the Utes lived. Built in 2009 under supervision of the Northern Ute Nation, it includes structures, plants and interpretive signage for both individual and group tours.
