2019 Annual Heritage Awards

A Day in the Orchard

Easter Egg Hunt

We are bringing back an Easter Egg Hunt to Cross Orchards Historic Site! Bring your own baskets and join the fun. Registration starts at 9:30 am and the hunt runs from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. $2 per child 3 Age Groups: Up to 5 years old 5 to 9 years old Over 9 years old

Old Fossil Golf Tournament 2019

Join us for our annual Old Fossil Golf Tournament, now held in the spring! Fun contests, food by Flavors Grille, and more! Proceeds benefit the Museums of Western Colorado and Family Health West.

Spring Day on the Farm

An annual favorite! Spring Day on the Farm started in 2010 to mark the season opening at Cross Orchards Historic Site. It’s a beautiful day with flowers blooming and orchard trees budding, good spring weather in the valley permitting. Celebrate spring!   More information to come

Dinosaur Day

Dinosaur Day is our longest running event having started in 1987 at the old Dinosaur Valley site (the Reed Building, 4th and Main in Downtown Grand Junction). Over the years, the event has evolved (and changed locations), and is now held in June at our Dinosaur Journey Museum in Fruita.  More information to come

Two Rivers Chautauqua 2019

Chautauqua takes its name from a movement that began near Lake Chautauqua, New York, in the 1800s. It began with Sunday school teachers gathering for a week of study, but it became a touring program through which local communities could enjoy traveling speakers, politicians, plays, and music.
